"Actually I much prefer Norfolk and would sooner learn to speak the language than Serbo Croat. English accents and dialects are something of a hobby for me. The late Dick Bagnall-Oakley and Peter Bellamy, the folk singer were heroes to me. Norfolk has a magic about it, not the grandeur of the mountains or deserts but a mysterious calm and inner beauty. Walsingham,in particular, always leaves a great impression on me. The sky and sea scapes, the coastal marshes, the broads, the woodlands, all conspire to pull me back there. The robust independence of the people is an admirable quality. They have a sense of identity which a lot of southern suburbanised England doesn't."
